Abstract

The National Geographic Society (NGS) guide is widely regarded as the most comprehensive field guide to North American birds. Its strength lies in its concise text and facing-page color illustrations for nearly all species—excluding only the rarest vagrants—recorded from North America, i.e., north of the Mexican border.
